Why am I starting a blog in 2026?

Good question idek. With where I currently stand in life, I am simultaneously one inch away from deciding to go full tilt on my professional career, going all in on a start-up, quitting my job and getting a gig in retail, or selling all my worldly possessions and thru-hiking the PCT. I objectively have too many goals and aspirations than the years required to do them all. Totally a bummer that I don’t really believe in Buddhism because getting reincarnated several times would be dope. Although, it might take awhile to complete the PCT as a worm so I guess I need to knock it out in this life. Back to the point. It is my opinion that putting things out to the world might make some of these ideas easier to digest mentally, like keeping a journal. And that the very public nature of it might create some accountability for me to actually walk the walk. The proverbial “fire under my ass,” if you will.

As you can see the reasoning is fairly self serving. Although, I am sure there is a litany of young professionals out there experiencing the same quandaries as me. If any of my writing finds those folks, perhaps it can be of some help. I frequently catch myself reflecting on some obscure blog posts that really stuck with me over the years. They are rarely in the front of my mind, but when the time comes, they creep back and I am reminded of those helpful-ancient-texts.

A podcast would be too much of a time-suck, and I would not be able to withstand the sound of my voice throughout editing. Also, a blog is easier to refer back to with AI nowadays, and that tool we all grew so fondly with in college: “Ctrl+F”.

While we are on the topic of AI. Like I mentioned on the landing page, AI will not be responsible for writing anything you read on this site. The technology is cool and all, and I have relied heavily on it to build the site and some projects I am working on, but at this rate, the human race is going to be dumb as hell pretty quick.

That’s why I am un-officially becoming the first Gen Zer to start a blog. Ever. In the year 2026.
